Your foot can tell a lot about your liver. Don’t take this as a way to diagnose a liver problem by looking at your foot. You need to go the doctor for that. However your foot can tell a lot of potential liver problems through tell tale signs. Listen from Dr. Eric Berg on how the foot has multiple cues about the health of your liver.
1. Red and Brown dots on the lower leg
Red & brown dots at the lower part of the foot indicate poor circulation. It could be a sign of a cardio vascular problem. According to Dr Berg, it is in many cases the sign of a liver problem. If there’s a liver problem, there’s going to be a vascular problem. It could also be due to diabetes. With diabetes, there are neurological problems in your feet.
2. Spider Veins
Spider veins in your foot are indicative of liver cirrhosis. You can also see varicose veins or spider veins in the lower legs
3. Cracked Heels
Cracked heels can be due to omega 3 fatty acid deficiency or Vitamin B3 deficiency. One of the main functions of the liver is to make bile and help you absorb these fatty acids. These includes vitamin A, Vitamin E, Vitamin B3, and omega 3 fatty acid. Vitamin B3 deficiency can lead to skin issues and cracked heels.
4. Itching in Foot
Itching in the foot is a sign of a congested liver. You can also have pain or inflammation and this is generally a sign of a bad liver. Hot feet is another symptom of bad liver
5. Smelly Feet
Bad odor or smelly feet is a sign of a bad liver since the liver is not able to detoxify the body correctly. This leads to a lot of garbage build-up especially in the large intestine and consequently bad odor. Usually if the liver is bad, the person’s diet is pretty bad and their entire body is build up with a a lot toxins especially in the large intestine. All of this comes out through the skin. Usually if your lever is bad, you’ll usually have problem in kidneys as well.
6. Fungus
Fungus on the outside of the body especially in the legs is a sign of poor liver. Again this is due to poor liver. There is an imbalance of micro-flora in the gut and this leads to overgrowth of fungus outside of the body.
7. Nailbed is white
The nail-bed is generally is going to be white if your liver is bad. This is due to poor circulation in your legs. You’ll tend to loose coloration at the base of your nail. This generally happens when you have a liver problem.
